Job Description Location: Cayce, South Carolina Travel: Spend M-F training in Pen Argyl. PA (possibly 3-6 months) In the First Year: Imagine starting with a clean slate: a brand-new plant, state-of-the-art equipment and the chance to build a production team the right way from day one. In your first year, you will: Get hands-on during equipment commissioning and startup, learning every machine and control system as it comes online. Recruit, hire and train your Production Chiefs and production team, developing operators who are skilled, safe and empowered. Write the playbook: create the SOPs, safety practices and 5S/Kanban routines that define how this plant runs. Launch our 8 Step Safety Program and Safety Committee at the new site, building a safety-first culture from the very first shift. Set up KPI and OEE tracking from day one, then use the data to take the lines from startup to full-rate production. Work shoulder-to-shoulder with Maintenance, Planning and the Plant Manager to solve the challenges only a new plant presents — and celebrate the wins along the way. Position: Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Production Manager will have daily responsibility for managing the workforce, productivity, cost control, continuous process improvement, health, and safety, as well as employee training. In support of the company business plan to meet or exceed OEE KPIs. This is a leadership level role and will engage in the development of yearly budget and capital improvement projects; Duties/Responsibilities: Directly Leads and Manages Production Operators. Works collaboratively with Logistics, Yard, Production Planning, QA Technician, HR, Finance to ensure company financials are met or exceeded. Safety Inspire desired workplace safety behaviors defined in our 8 Step Safety Program. Leading and sustaining a safe place to work environment. Lead and Ensure compliance with all OSHA programs. Co- Lead Safety Committee program. Core Responsibilities OEE, Financials etc. Oversee the production planning, staffing, and day-to-day manufacturing operations in a cost-effective manner, accurately track and record KPI’s. Troubleshoot and resolve operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays. Prepare and maintain appropriate production record systems utilizing Microsoft D365 etc. Ensure the efficient management of operations of a multiple shift production facility and ensure the proper functioning of equipment identifying and resolving potential problems Ensure product quality standards are met through inspections and material testing procedures. Aiding in capital improvement projects including design, engineering, scheduling, purchasing, budgets and installation and PM programs Learns, over time, how to operate all plant machines, and how to trouble shoot including PLC etc. Create, Drive implementation and Ensure compliance and adoption of Standard and Operation Procedures ( SOP's) Develop and implement measures to continuously improvement production methods and equipment performance via programs like 5S and Kanban. Analyze Data drawn from production reports to identify possible improvements, reduce losses and the number of breakdowns as well as improve efficiency and product quality. Leadership and Culture Change Leadership: effectively lead people; Communicate, and apply company policies and procedure Training and Development Recruit, review and hire production team as required. Motivate employees, be a positive source of influence, lead by example and encourage autonomous work by empowering employees Develop and deliver employee training and development plans to ensure succession planning and employee retention Excellent and proven people leadership and culture change management skills Ability and proven track record to quickly establish credibility and to develop and sustain excellent business relations both internally and externally. Mechanically inclined with proof of experience with automated and precision alignment of drive trains, conveyors machine frames. Strong Hydraulics, Compressor, and Pneumatics aptitude and ability to find root cause and trouble shoot system issues. This role works with heavy-duty fabrics and materials, follows detailed specifications and quality standards, and contributes to the safe production of load-rated products used in industrial, construction, and manufacturing environments. Sewers receive hands-on training while developing skills in sewing, fabrication, product inspection, and safe work practices. Measure, mark, fold, cut, and prepare materials according to work orders and product specifications. Operate automatic cutting equipment and perform hand cutting for custom orders when trained and assigned. Sew sling products, protective covers, towing products, and other textile products based on training and experience. Apply or create the correct tags, labels, and identification markings for finished products.
