Traveling Concrete Carpenter Foreman This position is responsible for supervising and coordinating all phases of concrete construction activities on heavy industrial and commercial construction projects. This position provides daily leadership to field crews, ensures work is performed safely and efficiently, maintains quality standards, and delivers projects on schedule while meeting company and client expectations. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: This position will lead a crew to build, set, and finish concrete structures. Coordinates with job site Superintendent to configure lay out. Works independently to lead a crew in the installation form work, place steel reinforcement, pour concrete, and finish as needed for concrete construction. Reads blueprints, drawings and sketches to fully grasp requirements. Assembles and secures forms, wood structures, sheet metal, and other various materials. Takes measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed. Cuts, shapes and smooths lumber and other material (e.g. fiberglass) according to needed measurements. Builds window frames, doors, staircases and frame buildings by using raw materials or pre-constructed items. Lay out floorings, roofing or drywalls ensuring they are leveled and compatible. Assembles furniture, cabinets, shelves and other items and install them where designated. Inspects places and conduct repairs or maintenance as needed. Builds scaffolding and other construction structures. Cuts or bores holes in structures, such as bulkheads, decks, walls, or mains, using hand or power tools. Assists other craft workers as needed or assigned. Inspects work sites for obstructions or holes that could cause structural weakness. Checks work and repairs or corrects any faults. Takes personal responsibility for fostering a safe workplace by following safety policies and procedures. Directs and supervises the work of a crew of one or more trades. Inspects work for compliance with company quality standards. Requires poor work to be corrected immediately to minimize issues. Performs work of a Concrete Carpenter in addition to Foreman duties. OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: May take on responsibilities of the Superintendent when absent or unavailable. May train or supervise others in job duties. May perform a variety of duties including those of other positions. Industrial machine licenses (such as a forklift license) preferred. Current OSHA 10 or MSHA Certification preferred. TWIC card preferred. KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES: Knowledge of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction. Knowledge of basic mathematics and its applications. Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of buildings, or other industrial structures. Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar. Skill in the standard use of tools and equipment of the profession. Ability to work successfully as a team and independently with moderate supervision. Ability to understand and follow directions. Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form. Ability to visualize a layout by looking at plans and prints. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Coordinate eye-hand movements with control and precision. Use hands and fingers fully; reach for, manipulate and feel objects; stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl. Climb and maintain body balance on ladders, scaffolding, or high structures; and see and hear well (either naturally or with correction). Lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Stoop, lay, bend or squat for long periods of time. WORKING CONDITIONS: May be exposed to fumes, or other airborne particles, loud noises,inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt. Position regularly works near moving mechanical parts and vibrating machinery. You’ll ensure safety, efficiency, and productivity standards are met while fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement. What You’ll Do as a Production Lead Foster a “Safety First” and “Environmental Stewardship” culture Lead by example in alignment with company core values – Respect, Help, Learn & Grow Supervise, motivate, and develop production team members Maintain facility cleanliness and ensure work areas meet safety standards Manage daily production schedules and performance goals Oversee automotive salvage and recycling processes Operate heavy equipment (loaders, forklifts, crushers, etc.) as needed Audit and record inventory levels to ensure accuracy Conduct equipment inspections and coordinate maintenance Enforce company policies, procedures, and standard operating practices (SOPs) Support hiring, training, and performance management for production staff Collaborate with management to optimize workflow and process efficiency Work standard production hours (Monday–Friday), with occasional overtime, weekends, or holidays What You Bring as a Production Lead Leadership or supervisory experience in production or industrial operations Commitment to safety, teamwork, and customer service excellence Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with automotive parts and systems Strong organizational and administrative skills Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment Experience operating industrial or heavy equipment Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and mobile tools Excellent communication and team leadership skills Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in varying weather conditions Reliable transportation Preferred: Experience in the automotive salvage or recycling industry Experience maintaining heavy equipment (loaders, hydraulics, tow motors, etc.) About Pull-A-Part and U-Pull-&-Pay Pull-A-Part, headquartered in Atlanta, GA, is an award-winning leader in the do-it-yourself used auto parts industry. Job Responsibilities SCPRT operates state parks, markets the state as a tourist destination and provides grants for parks, recreation and tourism development. Job Purpose and Duties: Construction and/or renovations to SCPRT facilities and maintenance to buildings and grounds. 1) Assists Construction Foreman with planning and staging of materials. Helps with job phases to ensure tasks are performed in an efficient manner. Communicates on a regular basis with Foreman about any problems that may arise during projects. 2) Performs Historic Restoration projects involving carpentry, electrical and plumbing. 3) Properly maintains tools and equipment on a daily basis. Stores tools in proper locations and periodically checks for any defective or broken tools. 4) Assists in ensuring the maintenance program and its resources are managed and implemented in an efficient and effective manner. Follows all state, agency, and program processes, procedures, operations and laws. 5) Maintains positive working relationships with all visitor services staff and managers, SCPRT staff, contractors, vendors, and other partners to ensure program goals and objectives are met. Promotes a team atmosphere. Serves as a leader in providing a safe, healthy, and pleasing stop with facilities, grounds and services that exceed guest expectations. 6) Practice and promote teamwork within the Agency. Serves as a liaison to business and governmental groups, state industry, etc. Abide by the Agency Code of Conduct. Minimum and Additional Requirements High school diploma or GED and 3+ years in facilities maintenance, grounds and repair, park maintenance, construction or related experience. Additional Requirements: 1) Able to manage several projects at a time and coordinate resources across the state. 2) Thorough knowledge of tools, equipment and materials used in construction and maintenance. Working knowledge and competency in carpentry, electrical, and plumbing trades. Ability to communicate effectively, understand written instructions and read building drawings. 3) Valid SC Driver's License. Preferred Qualifications Experience in carpentry, plumbing, and electrical trades preferred. Additional Comments Actual Job Location: Construction & Maintenance -Field Monday-Thursday, 40 hours weekly.
