Job Responsibilities At Richland Maintenance, operates a 5 yard dump truck for hauling materials such as asphalt, limestone, dirt, soil, cement, pipe, construction materials and debris. Repairs potholes and base surface failues of roadway using hand tools such as a shovel, pick, rake, and asphalt lute to level asphalt as needed. Operates a forklift for loading and unloading material. Performs manual labor in the building of catch basins, pouring concrete for curbs, and raised medians, laying pipes for driveways, and other drainage structures, repairing shoulders, clearing right-of-ways and repairing bridges. Assists with the placement of traffic control devices to properly set up a maintenance work zone. Serves as a flagger to safely direct and control traffic in maintenance work zones. Assists in emergency and inclement weather operations, may include being available for extended working hours or 12-hour shifts.
