Job Title Process Control Technician | 12-hour rotating shifts Position Overview Provide support for the PI Reclaim department with a specific focus on the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the PI Reclaim Dept. Essential Duties: 1.) Comply with all environmental procedures and programs. 2.) Take readings and check levels on PI support equipment. 3.) Responsible for maintaining condenser lines: a) Cleaning of condensers which includes daily water flushes b) Perform maintenance as necessary which also includes pulling & cleaning condenser tubes. c) Inspect the completed job. d) Inspect and clean the port holes and condenser catch pots. e) Monitor coolant (glycol) levels in chillers and refill as needed. 4.) Extruder/Screen Changers a.) Clean vent(s) as needed. b.) Clean extruder catch pots. c.) Clean/replace screens and hoses. d.) Change screens on all screen changers as necessary. Record changes in change log. 5.) Troubleshoot the steam vacuum system as needed. 6.) Troubleshoot PI Reclaim for issues that may arise. 7.) Stage/move waste containers to appropriate location. 8.) Perform maintenance on PI Reclaim equipment, as necessary. 9.) Successfully start-up/string-up/shutdown pelletizer and troubleshoot as needed. 10.) Take necessary action to contain any off-quality material (viscosity, color, etc). 11.) Keep reliable and up to date records on all PI Reclaim equipment. 12.) Perform daily assignments and housekeeping. 13.) Clean and replace dust collectors and filters for cooling silo, vacuum pumps and dust collectors as needed to allow for optimal performance. 14.) Must be able to locate all equipment (pumps, vessels, valves, etc.) in the field in order to troubleshoot and correct problems. 15.) Evaluate PI reclaim conditions and make process corrections or changes as needed to maintain operation and performance. 16.) Collect color samples and test every hour and enter into quality form. 17.) Properly fill out the entire reading sheet. 18.) Load PI tankers as needed. 19.) Cover material handler job functions as needed. 20.) Inspect and operate a fork truck. 21.) Assist on PI Dept PMs, outages and overhauls. 22.) Fill out change log during shift. 23.) Weigh out/print out waste labels for waste boxes. 24.) Have an understanding of PI Dept equipment shutdown and start-up procedures. 25.) Locking and tagging of equipment for maintenance and construction. 26.) Be able to handle emergency situations: (Power outages, furnace outages, and instrument air malfunction). 27.) Attend shift communication huddles and make a good information exchange. 28.) Comply with procedures found in SMS. 29.) Work normally scheduled days adhering to starting and stopping times. Work overtime as required. Who You Are: The Industrial Mechanic must have the ability to read blueprints and be able to follow design specifications. A working knowledge of electrical wiring and instrumentation and controls is a plus Understanding of valves, flanges, and gaskets Mechanically able to glue PVC piping together using a PVC piping drawing Excellent troubleshooting skills HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or auto mechanic experience is helpful Forklift and scissor lift use Ability to use an overhead crane Ability to follow blueprint drawings and bend stainless steel tubing is a plus The industrial mechanic must be able to work in confined spaces Hydrostatic testing experience Pneumatic tubing experience Occasional travel required Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent Ability to be flexible and responsive to changing business needs Candidate must be able to pass drug test, background check, and physical Must be able to work with safe working practices Perks Varied insurance offerings with company match Professional development opportunities Positive and supportive work environment This is an hourly, non-exempt position.
