The Production Supervisor will be responsible for the Shift overall activities of the production operations, including workplace safety and food safety Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities Meet cost, quality and service targets within the Manufacturing and Operations area as detailed on our Plant Leadership Scorecards Manage, lead, and develop staff to establish a high-performance work team. Position Summary The Specialty Services Technician acts as Trusted Advisor to STERIS Customers in service of cleaning large hospital sterilizer equipment, as part of a high performing team. The Technician provides on-site cleaning services and simple maintenance on complex mechanical, electro-mechanical and electronic units in a high stress healthcare environment. The Technician pro-actively interacts and communicates concerns, updates, repairs, and service enhancement opportunities with Customers, Field Service partners and contract administration team. Important Note about Schedule/Travel: This is a field service role with very frequent travel (75%), most of which is in a company van that the Technician keeps at home. The territory covered is generally within a few hours' drive, but occasional travel to other territories, sometimes by plane, will also be required. The work hours in this full-time role will include some weekend days, and shifts can vary between morning, afternoon, and night. A high degree of flexibility is required to accommodate our Customer needs. This is a safety sensitive position. What You Will Do as a Specialty Service Technician You will be accountable for Customer satisfaction as a first point of contact through pro-active, professional communication and commitment to resolving Customer’s issues/problems expediently. You will communicate effectively and proactively with Customers on preventative cleaning needs, and associated scheduling and equipment details (arrival, service status, completion, next steps). Establishes and maintains rapport with the Customer and other key decision makers to promote Sterilizer services. You will perform sterilizer cleaning function including changing required chemical ingredients; making adjustments to necessary chemicals; monitoring the cleaning process; maintaining appropriate pressures; maintaining and repairing the chamber cleaning equipment; handle, transport, and dispose of chemicals used in chamber cleaning according to safety protocols. You will work closely with the Scheduling Team, Supervisor and Customer to plan efficient service routes within assigned territory, and adhere to all coverage, and service standards. You will troubleshoot and consult proper contact for any observed issues with equipment and systems components. You will utilize company-issued smart phone, laptop, and related software to perform administrative tasks, including required documentation and reporting. You will be responsible for Company vehicle, equipment, and supplies and parts inventory, including appropriate maintenance and escalation of issues for safe, effective operation. The Experience, Skills, and Abilities Needed Required: High School Diploma or GED 3 years of work experience, at least 1 year of which must be technical or service-related work (sterile processing, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, construction, automotive etc.) Associates degree, or related certifications or military experience, may be considered towards minimum years of work experience. Valid driver’s license. Ability to work flexible hours (mostly outside “normal business hours,” including overtime and weekends), with up to 50% travel overnight. Job Responsibilities At Richland Maintenance, operates paver machine performing complex leveling and pavement repair operations. Operates a large roller during paving operations to strengthen road beds. Operates asphalt kettle during paving operation to spray tack on the roadway. Coordinates the placement of traffic control devices to properly set up a maintenance work zone according to the SCDOT Work Zone Traffic Control Manual and Field Guide to warn motorists. Assists in emergency and inclement weather operations, to include operating medium or heavy duty equipment. May include being available for extended working hours or 12-hour shifts. Minimum and Additional Requirements Two (2) years of related work experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence. Necessary Special Requirement: A valid motor vehicle operator’s license is required upon entry to the position. Requires attainment of a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within six (6) months of placement in the position. The physical demands for the essential functions of this position involve bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, climbing, balancing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, grasping and physically manipulating objects of varying size, shape, weight, and material. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. This position requires walking for extended periods, treading rough and uneven terrain, and working in close proximity to motoring traffic and natural environmental hazards. May be required to work outside of normal work schedule, especially during inclement weather and/or other departmental-related emergencies.
