Responsibilities of the Boiler Technician: Perform weekly maintenance inspections, troubleshooting and repairs to boilers, boiler controls, condensate pumps, de-aerators, valves, steam piping systems, heat exchangers, hot water closed loop systems, and other boiler mechanical equipment on systems ranging from 15 psig to 125 psig steam pressure following established guidelines. Conduct system reviews by documenting the operating conditions of the equipment to ensure they are maintained to established guidelines including but not limited to: fuel oil levels in underground storage tanks supplying boilers and generators, assembly of water side and fire side of small heating boilers and large steam boilers, test operations of primary and secondary low water cutoffs, etc. Perform immediate repairs as required on equipment found to be faulty to ensure that equipment is operational. Respond to internal service requests for immediately required repairs by traveling to the building site and taking corrective actions required to resolve the issue. Keep supervision informed about the current condition of building equipment to ensure issues are quickly addressed and resolved in accordance with established policies and procedures.
