Summary Sub-Assembly Technician works in Sub Assembly Dept reporting to Sub Assembly Manager Position Overview Detail-oriented and mechanically skilled Sub-Assembly Technician to join our production team in the boating industry. This role is responsible for assembling, testing, and preparing sub-components used in boat manufacturing, ensuring they meet company quality standards and comply with industry regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Perform assembly of boat sub-components (e.g., electrical harnesses, fuel systems, steering assemblies, seating, hatches, trim components, etc.). Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions to ensure accurate assembly. Operate hand tools (screwdrivers, hammer, measuring tape, etc.), power tools (drill, buffer, driver, etc) and continuous measuring and inspection of parts and equipment to blueprints/drawings to exact requirements, safely and efficiently. Conduct inspections and quality checks on assembled parts to ensure compliance with specifications. Collaborate with production supervisors and engineers to identify and resolve manufacturing and assembly issues. Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with safety and 5S standards. Accurately and promptly record completed work, materials used, and any issues encountered. Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency and product quality. Additional duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous experience in mechanical assembly, preferably in marine, automotive, or related industries preferred. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and measurement instruments. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship. Good problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot minor assembly issues. Knowledge of boating components or marine systems a plus. Key Competencies Mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity. Team-oriented mindset with good communication skills. Strong work ethic and reliability. Safety-conscious with knowledge of workplace safety standards. Physical Requirements Ability to Stand and Walk for extended periods of time. Ability to lift and carry/move up to 50 lbs.
