Your primary function will be to serve as an NBIS Bridge Inspection Team Leader for a diverse inventory of bridges and structures for our numerous clients. This position would be supporting work throughout South Carolina and North Carolina. You will be expected to immediately lead structural condition inspections of bridges and structures following NBIS and owner specific guidelines and develop detailed condition inspection reports. As time and workload require, you will prepare designs for bridges and other transportation related structures, buildings, and water/wastewater structures for a variety of projects and clients and provide preliminary concepts to final construction plans and construction phase reviews. Maintain and repair/replace doors, ceiling tiles, locks, windows. Hang bulletin boards, pictures, etc.Perform repairs in HVAC. Make adjustments and/or repairs on thermostats, clear clogged condensation lines, report issues found to supervisor.Perform repairs on hospital equipment such as beds, bedrails, wheelchairs, geri-chairs. Deliver oxygen tanks to wards.Maintain records on supplies used and time spent. Complete daily work orders. Maintain adequate supplies and equipment in shop and truck. Enter time in SCEIS daily.May supervise employees and assign duties. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES A minimum of a high school diploma. At least four (4) years of experience performing complex building maintenance and/or training directly related to the area of employment.Additional Requirements: A valid SC drivers license. What You'll Do: ECS is hiring a Principal Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in Columbia, SC! As a Principal Geotechnical Engineer with ECS you will provides technical leadership for major projects across multiple sectors – public infrastructure, commercial, industrial, mission critical/data center and much more. You will lead a multidisciplinary team of field staff, engineers, and scientists while serving as a primary technical authority for the region. Lead complex engineering designs for slope stability, shallow and deep foundations, retaining structures, and settlement evaluations. Direct project managers on field exploration activities, including drilling, test pits, and site inspections. What We're Looking For: Basic Qualifications 12 or more years of experience in geotechnical and transportation engineering. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Geological Engineering, or a related field. Professional Engineer (PE) license is required; Professional Geologist (PG) license may be acceptable depending on state requirements. Documented expertise in DOT Geotechnical Design Manual (GDM) and AASHTO LRFD specifications. Proficiency in MicroStation, OpenRoads or similar programs for infrastructure and highway design projects. Proven track record of serving as a senior technical reviewer at a previous engineering firm. Valid driver’s license for travel to project sites and client meetings. Preferred Qualifications Utilize specialized software including gINT, LPile, APile, MSEW, FB-Pier, and GRLWEAP to deliver innovative design solutions.
