Reports to supervisor as to the general condition of facilities and general progress of work underway. Assists supervisor in maintaining written records of mechanical equipment maintenance, PM and periodic inspections as required by appropriate regulatory agencies, i.e. DPH, Joint Commission. Estimates and acquires materials needed to complete jobs. Evaluates on-site stock for critical utility equipment. Develops scopes of work for projects and provides oversight of outside contractors. Organizes shutdowns and major repairs in conjunction with the supervisor. Ensures work is performed with the utmost awareness for safety. Ensures proper Lockout/Tagout procedures are followed. Supplements staff in the completion of work assignments. Provides technical oversight to ensure adequate job completion and technical competence of personnel. Responds to emergency calls and assists technicians and other trained personnel on medical gas, vacuum leaks, fire system, etc. Participates in emergency Call-Back plan.
