Estimates and acquires materials needed to complete jobs. Evaluates on-site stock for critical utility equipment. Develops scopes of work for projects and provides oversight of outside contractors. Organizes shutdowns and major repairs in conjunction with the supervisor. Ensures work is performed with the utmost awareness for safety. Ensures proper Lockout/Tagout procedures are followed. Supplements staff in the completion of work assignments. Provides technical oversight to ensure adequate job completion and technical competence of personnel. Responds to emergency calls and assists technicians and other trained personnel on medical gas, vacuum leaks, fire system, etc. Participates in emergency Call-Back plan. Responsibilities Troubleshoot electrical and automation equipment, including PLC I/O cards and field devices. PLC programming is not required, but candidates should understand basic ladder logic and function block logic. Troubleshoot Siemens or Allen-Bradley PLC systems, 3-phase motors, VFDs, prox switches, photoeyes, pressure valves, and instrumentation. Respond to crane and other production equipment trouble calls.
