Tunista Operations Support Services LLC On-Call PRIMARY FUNCTION The Ft. Jackson Janitor cleans and maintains an orderly condition of offices, childcare facilities, working areas, and establishments for Ft. Jackson CDC and SSI. This is an on-call position, with work scheduled Monday through Friday between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m., as needed. Duties involve a combination of the following: sweeping, mopping or scrubbing, and polishing floors; removing chips, trash, and other refuse; dusting equipment, furniture, or fixtures; polishing metal fixtures or trimmings; providing supplies; and cleaning lavatories, showers, and restrooms. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Maintain floors by sweeping, mopping and vacuuming. • Gather and empty trash throughout facility. Clean waste receptacles as necessary. • Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors. • Strip, seal, finish and polish floors as necessary. • Steam clean and / or shampoo carpeted areas of facility. • Notify appropriate personnel of any equipment needing. • Clean and polish furniture and fixtures. • Dust and clean all office furnishings, files, fixtures, paneling, window sills and all other surfaces. • Clean all restroom thoroughly. Replenish paper products, soap, hand sanitizer, etc. • Keep all community areas of the facility free of debris and clutter. • Wipe clean and buff all metal surfaces, eliminating fingerprints and smudges. • Follow all safety procedures when operating equipment and when using chemical cleaners. • Monitor building security and safety by performing tasks such as locking doors after operating hours and reporting any suspicious activity. • Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties. • Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as gloves, aprons and goggles, when necessary. • Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. • Perform other duties as assigned SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job has no supervisory responsibilities. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES: • General knowledge in use and maintenance of janitorial equipment. • Basic computer skills specifically using Microsoft Office Suite; ability to learn additional computer skills or software programs. • Ability to enter data accurately into databases. • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. • Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management and staff. • Must be trustworthy • Ability to use general office equipment such as fax, phone, copier, etc. • Ability to follow instructions • Customer service skills, including active listening, prompt service and follow-up. • Ability to learn and understand corporate policies and procedures and how they relate to Tunista’s goals. • Ability to perform basic mathematical computations, detect unobvious facts and issues, and exercise resourcefulness in resolving problems. • Ability to multi-task. A day in your second-shift world 2:30 p.m. — You review the work order, organize the correct tooling, and verify die components for height and parallelism. You assemble the die set in the cold press, dial in machine parameters, and make a first-off run. Throughout the shift, you perform in-process checks with a micrometer (height, length, thickness) and confirm each segment’s mass on a precision electronic balance. You capture quality and completion data, collaborate with Quality Control on inspection techniques and standards, and keep equipment clean and ready for the next order. Before 11:00 p.m., you remove and inspect the die, document results, and hand off clear notes for continuity. What you’ll handle Prepare and validate cold press tooling (measure height and verify parallelism). Assemble, remove, and inspect dies for cold pressing of powdered metal diamond segments. Set up and adjust cold press machine parameters to meet order specs. Organize and select the correct tooling to fulfill work requirements.
