We have an immediate need for a 1st shift (7:00am-5:15pm Monday-Thursday) yard manager in a steel fabrication environment. Qualified candidates but have a valid driver's license, pass a criminal background check, drug test & physical. Additional details below: * Medium to high energy personality I believe this in some ways will drive them to be motivated and maybe not be willing to just go with status quo. I would like to see someone who sees potential improvements and drives for change in that area. * This individual has to be self-motivated and self-governing as this position/department only has a total of two employees and this hire specifically I am looking for more of a leader to rebuild the department around at some point. * High attention to detail- Someone with a quality background should fit well here as usually those individuals have a keener eye for detail. * Willingness to learn- We have to have someone who either has code experience with receiving or someone who is motivated to learn. A background in receiving is not mandatory as this can be fully taught to them, so no degrees or multiple years of experience is necessary. * Intelligence does not have to be an extreme level of intellect but needs to be a problem solver. * Not required but desired, someone who has familiarity with using calipers. They do need to know how to use a tape measure though. * Computer skills are a must but do not have to be at a high level. Entry level computer skills with them mostly using Outlook, Word, and Excel. * Ability to "Triage" or identify priority of tasks needed to be efficient and manage time appropriately. * Someone who can handle outdoor conditions heat/cold. Their job will be split (somewhat) between their small office and yard. Office work will include paperwork/computer and yard work will include forklift operation to offload trucks, move and locate material, etc. * I really need a strong mind and a personality that can both operate somewhat solo but also get along with the team here. They will be required to interact with fellow employees, truck drivers, and vendors. * Forklift experience is a MUST!!! They will be using a forklift daily and will be responsibility for offloading trucks and as such they will see many kinds of item from small angles to large plates and shapes. * This hire will replace one of our receiving inspectors who plans on retiring in January 2027.
