Produce conceptual designs from client specifications and develop both basic and detailed engineering documentation. Perform and document design calculations to ensure design is compliant with client specifications and applicable codes and standards. Assist with the preparation of scope, cost, and schedules for future project/tasks. Work closely with suppliers, vendors, and technical representatives for specification of various mechanical systems and components to support overall project design. Ensure compliance of various design documents with AVANTech Nuclear Quality Assurance (NQA-1) program. Interact with manufacturing team members to optimize mechanical design. Manufacturing team members can include welders, pipe fitters, painters, operators, and quality assurance personnel. Possess the ability to implement various design codes and standards. These standards shall include, but not be limited to, pressure vessel (ASME Section VIII Div.1), piping (ASME B31.3), structural (ASCE 7 / AISC Steel Construction Manual), and welding codes (AWS D1.1 / AWS D1.6).
