Description: The CEI Project Engineer will serve as the Engineer in responsible charge of daily CEI operations on SCDOT construction projects. This role involves oversight of field inspection staff, coordination with SCDOT Resident Construction Engineers (RCE), managing documentation in accordance with SCDOT Construction Manual guidelines, and ensuring project conformance with design plans, specifications, and contractual obligations. Serves as point of contact for the consultant and provide oversight throughout project development. Acts on behalf of the Program Manager when necessary. Performs other related duties as assigned. Minimum and Additional Requirements A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Science and Management and four (4) years of engineering or construction management work experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence. A valid motor vehicle operator's license is required. The physical demands for the essential functions involves sitting or standing at a desk for extended periods of time. This position may require occasional travel. May require bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, climbing, balancing, and kneeling. Walking for extended periods, treading rough terrain, working in close proximity to motoring traffic, and in natural environmental hazards. May be required to work outside normal business hours or respond to emergency situations. Job Responsibilities Assists in the development, calibration, validation, and use of multiple travel demand models. Performs statewide mobility data analytics. Analyzes performance measures for the statewide primary and secondary route systems. Performs spatial analytics for both internal and external geographic information system files. Assists in and reviews benefit cost analysis. Provides support for the interstate and interchange planning efforts. Maintains and updates performance measures for the interstate corridor and interchange list. Performs research, documents methodology and assists in preparing technical reports for the System Performance Management unit.
