Maintenance Technician- Weekend Days
JOB PURPOSE This position is responsible for the electro/mechanical maintenance of products and machines to support current production lines and/or sales orders. Technicians will be crossed trained between product lines and must follow all operator instructions along with strict adherence to the Quality System. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Install, repair, and maintain plant equipment to ensure proper operation and optimum up-time. Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance on motors, pneumatic tools, and production machines. Plans, coordinates, and directs manufacturing equipment improvements, moderately complex installations, and no routine maintenance. Monitors, maintains, and repairs machinery, plant equipment, tools and systems used in manufacturing, engineering, and other production processes. Manages equipment performance and recommends new equipment and preventative techniques to improve reliability. Investigates breakdowns related to extended downtime and maintenance system failures and creates solutions to improve efficiency. Plans and prepares for product changes and determines their impact on processes, equipment, and tooling. Responsible for the development and maintaining of robust PM, and TPM processes. Define maintenance systems and standards for all areas. Participates in regularly scheduled team meetings. May provide guidance to less-senior technicians. Occasional backfill in absence of supervision. Should be comfortable with working and or leading cross functional teams. Follow diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, and engineering specifications, troubleshot equipment malfunctions. Remove defective parts by dismantling devices, using hoists, cranes, and hand/power tools, examining form and texture of parts. Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment. Proper use of welding and cutting equipment related to all phases of metal fabrication and repair. Determine changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts, using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments. Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests. Familiar with code wiring installation on equipment or buildings. Ability to repair and troubleshoot equipment and control circuits. Must also lay out and install piping (pipefitting) in accordance with code/trade specifications. Compile full list of materials needed and/or used for each repair, fabrication, or installation assignment. Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. All other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Two-year Associate Degree or 3 years of related experience Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within team environment. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Must be fluent in PLC Logic made by Fanuc, Allen Bradley, Siemens and Mitsubishi controls and associated hardware, field bus network systems, robot. CNC Troubleshooting WORKING CONDITIONS Expect to work within a climate control facility with mid to high noise levels. Working conditions and hours may vary based on production and business needs, including working regular shifts as outlined and/or occasional weekends, or overtime, if needed. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Team members are constantly standing, walking, carrying, climbing, pulling/pushing, bending, seeing, kneeling, stooping, reaching, hearing, as well as handing paperwork. Job Purpose: This position will be responsible for ensuring the efficient design, optimization, and maintenance of manufacturing systems and processes to meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards. This role plays a key part in driving continuous improvement in production operations, working closely with cross-functional teams to enhance production efficiency, reduce costs, and maintain product quality. __________________________________________________________________________________________ Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Ø Team member and subject matter expert on cross functional team to develop Process Development Studies. Responsible for protocol generation and summary analysis of results for process changes or new products. Ø Team member and subject matter expert for the design and implementation of new equipment and equipment modifications to help improve safety, Quality, reliability, and throughput. Ø Responsible for implementation of new processes while maintaining cGMP compliance. Ø Team member and subject matter expert for the generation of User Requirement Specification documents for new equipment. Ø Manages capital projects from a small to medium scope requiring moderate coordination. Ability to manage several assignments (project & process duties) simultaneously is required. Ø Ensure all equipment is in compliance with established safety standards. Ø Responsible for acquiring and reviewing equipment/materials quotations. Completes or supervises the completion of necessary designs, drawings, calculations and specifications on associated equipment. Ø All other duties as assigned or apparent. Ø Ability to interact with all levels of management. Ø Ability to work in collaboration with machinists and technicians, etc. in the modification, adjustment, removal and installation of new or existing equipment as required. Ø As required within the scope of the project, responsible for associated documentation: Operations Procedures, Preventive Maintenance schedules, Engineering Change Notifications, spare parts listings, etc. Ø Leads process improvement activities. Must have ability to design and implement machine modifications. Supplemental Functions: Ø Performs other similar duties as required. __________________________________________________________________________________________ Knowledge & Skills: Ø Must have bachelor's degree in engineering. Mechanical, Electrical, Biomedical, or Chemical Engineering preferred. Ø Exceptional technical writing and documentation skills. Ø Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word for authoring, formatting, and maintaining GMP-compliant technical documents (protocols, reports, SOPs, specifications). Ø Attention to detail and commitment to data integrity Ø Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel for data analysis, trending, calculations, tables, and graphical presentation of engineering and development data. Ø Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and changing priorities while under pressure Ø Work closely with operations, quality control, maintenance, validation, and other departments to ensure smooth coordination and timely completion of projects. Ø Ability to successfully prioritize and manage large projects, deadlines, and tasks while working independently or with a team Ø Effective verbal and written communication Ø Ability to work independently while collaborating across teams Ø Proficiency in mechanical design (Auto CAD and Solidworks) and troubleshooting. Ø Knowledge of PLC, Vision Systems, and equipment troubleshooting preferred. Ø Knowledge of PLC, Vision Systems, and equipment troubleshooting preferred. Ø Experience in manufacturing environment. Pharmaceutical or Medical Device experience highly preferred. Ø Six Sigma certification (greenbelt or blackbelt) preferred. Ø Familiarity with the following processes: liquid dispense, sterile pathway, autoclave cycle development, leak detection, pick-n-place, printing/labeling. Ø Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and changing priorities while under pressure. Ø Ability to successfully prioritize and manage large projects, deadlines, and tasks while working independently or with a team Ø Position requires bending (desk to floor), lifting (up to 15 lbs.), corrected vision (20/20), standing, sitting, typing, and walking. Ø MUST have a valid driver’s license or government issued ID. Ø MUST pass a drug test.
