Receiving Empty Totes: Supervise the process of receiving empty totes from other departments or external suppliers. Ensure that all incoming totes are inspected for damage and documented accurately in the warehouse management system (WMS). Tote Identification and Documentation: Ensure that all totes are correctly identified, tagged, and tracked in the system. Keep accurate records of empty tote quantities, locations, and movements. Storage Organization: Manage the proper organization and storage of empty totes in the warehouse. Ensure that totes are stored in a way that maximizes warehouse space, ensures easy access, and supports smooth material flow. Inventory Accuracy: Ensure inventory accuracy by regularly monitoring empty tote stock levels and maintaining proper documentation. Perform cycle counts and stock audits as necessary to keep inventory levels up to date. Tote Recycling and Maintenance: Oversee the inspection, repair, and recycling of empty totes that are damaged or no longer fit for use. Ensure that empty totes are maintained in a condition that allows for continued use in the manufacturing process. Logistics Coordination: Coordinate with Body Shop Production: Ensure that empty totes are available when needed for production or assembly lines. Coordinate with the body shop production team to ensure that tote availability supports production schedules and prevents delays. Coordinate with Other Warehouse Teams: Work closely with other warehouse departments to ensure efficient material handling, particularly as it pertains to moving materials between the body shop and receiving areas. Tote Movements and Replenishment: Oversee the movement of empty totes between storage locations and the production line. Ensure that totes are replenished on time and maintain a steady flow of materials to prevent production disruptions. Safety and Compliance: Safety Protocols: Ensure that safety protocols are followed in the warehouse, particularly with respect to the handling of empty totes, the use of forklifts and other material handling equipment, and the storage of materials. Risk Management: Monitor warehouse operations for potential safety risks and take corrective actions to minimize hazards. Ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards. Safety Training: Provide regular safety training and conduct safety drills to ensure the team is aware of safety procedures, emergency protocols, and the correct operation of warehouse equipment. Process Improvement: Optimization of Operations: Identify opportunities for process optimization in the handling, storage, and distribution of empty totes. Look for ways to increase operational efficiency, reduce downtime, and minimize costs.
