Job Description : Summary This position supports the Ryder Continuous Improvement culture throughout the Fleet Management Solutions (FMS) Division by actively promoting and facilitating the use of Continuous Improvement methods to support new and existing operations standards. The manager is responsible for executing strategic projects that enhance asset performance, maintenance effectiveness, fleet reliability initiatives, digital transformation, and continuous improvement across the organization. The manager is responsible for driving change by leveraging data analytics, process engineering, and automation or AI-enabled efforts to deliver higher levels of performance as measured by key Maintenance metrics including technician productivity, asset uptime, and customer service. Effectively employs Continuous Improvement /Lean tools to enable root cause identification and elimination. Effectively employs Project Management best practices to deploy improvements. This high-influence position will interface with employees at all levels and functions across the business to manage large projects, direct proof-of-concepts (POC’s) and pilots, and generally reduce waste and cost in our FMS business. This position reports to the Continuous Improvement Group Director, and partners closely with Maintenance, Operations, Engineering, IT, Data & Analytics, and Ryder’s shop network to deliver measurable improvements that advance Ryder’s position as the industry leader in fleet performance and reliability. Essential Functions Manage large, cross-functional projects as specified by FMS initiatives that support division and corporate objectives through Project Management, CI Event Management, Change Management and other best practices. Support proofs-of-concepts (POC’s) to enact new processes, tools, and technologies in Ryder Maintenance locations. Provide Project Management standards and artifacts, liaise between stakeholders, ensure scope, measurement, documentation, communication/training, and feedback forums. Facilitate brainstorming/ideation events, Value Stream process mapping events, and Kaizen/improvement events to discover improvement opportunities as precursors to projects; perform pre-work, manage teams, direct event flow and closure summary and report outs, and follow-up through measurement tracking. Participate in IT-related activities across the scope of assigned projects and POC’s; analyze business processes in tandem with IT, prepare detailed business requirements and documentation, generate and/or review user acceptance criteria, participate in user acceptance testing, assist with change management and training documentation. Support the FMS Transformation Office across the scope of assigned projects and POC’s; executive report out materials and cadence. Manage the preparation and dissemination of quality management data analysis or reports across the scope of assigned projects for use by Maintenance Operations and assist management in their interpretation and application to improve performance. Create, print, and ensure work orders are picked for the production floor. Pull specified receivers for production at the start of production and as needed. Build/Complete Work Orders in NetSuite as the work goes through uncoated cell. Monitor and transfer material between paint to the production floor and inventory shelf. Responsible creating parts request for production floor bulk parts, by auditing and ensure bins are full and including Receivers, by working with Manufacturing compliance team.
