Position Overview The Civil Engineer supports the planning, design, permitting, and construction of a wide range of site development and infrastructure projects. Working closely with Project Managers and multidisciplinary design teams, this position prepares civil engineering plans, calculations, reports, and permit documents while helping ensure projects meet client expectations, regulatory requirements, budgets, and schedules. Projects may include commercial developments, office sites, educational facilities, healthcare campuses, aviation projects, municipal infrastructure, federal facilities, industrial sites, mixed-use developments, and other public or private assignments. The ideal candidate has site development experience, strong Civil 3D skills, and the ability to manage multiple technical assignments in a fast-paced consulting environment. Key Responsibilities Support Project Managers with the design and delivery of multiple civil engineering and site development projects. Prepare site plans, grading plans, drainage plans, utility plans, erosion control plans, and construction documents. Perform site layout, grading, storm drainage, utility, and roadway design using AutoCAD Civil 3D. Assist with hydrologic and hydraulic calculations, stormwater management design, and technical reports. Prepare engineering calculations, design exhibits, permit applications, and supporting documentation. Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, landscape architects, surveyors, contractors, and specialty consultants. Review zoning requirements, development standards, technical specifications, and applicable codes. Support permitting efforts with municipal, state, and federal agencies. Respond to agency review comments and revise plans and calculations as required. Participate in client meetings, design coordination meetings, and internal project reviews. Assist with construction administration, including RFIs, submittal reviews, site observations, and design clarifications. Maintain organized project files and complete assigned work in accordance with established schedules and budgets. Perform quality-control reviews of plans, calculations, and technical documents. Communicate project status, design concerns, and potential risks to Project Managers and senior engineering staff. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution. Minimum of three years of civil engineering or site development design experience. Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D required. Experience with site layout, grading, drainage, stormwater management, and utility design. Ability to prepare civil construction plans, calculations, reports, and permitting documents. Working knowledge of land development principles and permitting processes. Strong written, verbal, and professional communication skills. Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with project teams. Preferred Qualifications Engineer-in-Training certification preferred. Progress toward obtaining a Professional Engineer license is highly desirable. Create and maintain engineering drawings, process flow diagrams, facility layouts, and technical documentation that support manufacturing operations and shop floor activities. Support equipment installations, process validations, and manufacturing improvement projects. We are seeking a Senior Engineer to perform all aspects of process automation engineering and system integration, including initial concepts, specifications, design engineering, documentation, project implementation, testing, startup, and training of operating and maintenance personnel. Understand the project scope and financials and exercise good time management skills to plan & coordinate the work as part of a project team by developing project schedules and budgets in collaboration with project leadership and identify change orders and justify changes to Project Management ensuring completion of all project deliverables to the satisfaction of the client Anticipate and provide solutions to project leadership and/or customer giving high priority to customer satisfaction offering strong technical expertise and advisement as part of the project team Adapt to a flexible work schedule & travel, if necessary, to participate in the design, development, and start-up of control systems at the client's facility Be an ambassador who embodies our Core Values, prioritizing the success of E Tech Group, our clients, and the professional development of our associates You Have: Bachelor's of Science degree in Engineering or equivalent educational background. 5+ years of industry hands on experience executing automation projects for process plants - preferably in CPG / Life Sciences / Food & Beverage / Chemical domains Understanding of batch and continuous process control strategies deployed in Demonstrated ability to develop process control system applications, utilizing Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Human Machine Interfaces (HMI), and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) Systems, configuration of thin client server applications, design, developing & maintaining databases for data collection, configuring process historians and using reporting tools to present process data to operations & management, tuning control loops, providing control system startup services, troubleshooting existing control systems and providing control system qualifications. Solid understanding of object-oriented software development & delivery methodologies Expertise with the design, implementation, maintenance and troubleshooting of virtual server-based control system architectures, and understanding of control system network topology, i.e. Ethernet, Ethernet/IP, ControlNet, DeviceNet, etc. Knowledge of process instrumentation specification, installation & troubleshooting, and control panel design, check-out, commissioning & troubleshooting Hands-on experience rapidly troubleshooting and solving equipment & instrument-related issues during start-up and commissioning and perform complex system testing Experience working at customer sites supporting the installation & commissioning of equipment and systems A DNA comprised of collaboration and teamwork.
