Summary/Purpose Primary function is to operate and maintain adjustments of various process, manual or automated machines and manipulators in the high volume production of quality bearings. Essential Duties and Accountabilities: • Reads work instructions for product specifications, dimensions, tolerances, and tooling instructions. • Selects, positions, and secures cutting tools in tool holder (chuck, collet, or tool post). • Turns valves / coolant lines to direct flow of coolant or cutting oil against tool and work piece. • Observes operation of machine and verifies conformance of machined work piece to specifications, dimensional tolerances and visually inspects parts for non-conformance. • Follow standard operating production procedures and work instructions. Perform work in a systematic manner when possible to insure all steps are carried out in proper sequence. • Perform operational preventative maintenance according to schedules. • Read dial indicators and other measuring devices to insure quality standards are met. If manufacturing process is causing quality issues, Machine Operator will stop production and consult with the Setup and Floor Supervisor. • Assist Setup personnel during operation by giving information, making minor machine adjustments &/or tool settings. • Record production results on an hourly basis. • Perform quality checks and scrap as required. • Properly disposition process rejects in appropriate areas. • Responsible for all “5-S” and daily housekeeping on a daily basis. Performs major cleanup as required. • Follow and complete daily work assignments as directed by Setup Associates and Floor Supervisors. • Associates are accountable on a daily basis to the Setup Associate and Floor Supervisors. • Maintain Traceability records by recording component serial numbers. • Ability to successfully operate multiple product areas (ex: turning, grinding and assembly). • Determine causes of minor machine malfunction and make adjustments or repair in order for machine to process materials in accordance to specifications in a timely manner. • Assist on changeover as required. • Train other associates as directed. • Other duties as assigned. JOB PURPOSE Prep and paint parts of firearms. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Prepares finished surfaces by wet sanding and buffing. Prepares surfaces for paint by sanding, bead blasting and using masking. Apply Body filler to smooth sheet metal surfaces. Roughen aluminum surfaces to create paint adhesion properties for the surface to be painted. Apply primers or sealers to prepare new surfaces for finish coats.
