Library Technical Assistant (Temporary)
Job Responsibilities The Library Technical Assistant plays a key role in supporting students and creating a welcoming, helpful library environment. Under direct supervision, this position provides friendly and professional customer service at the library desk, assisting students with circulation and reference needs. Duties include: Greeting and assisting students, faculty, and staff with questions about library services, resources, and spaces. Helping students use library technology, including computers, printing, and other equipment, while troubleshooting common issues. Guiding students in finding and accessing library resources, both physical and online. Supporting daily library operations such as opening/closing the library, checking out study rooms, and maintaining library spaces. Performing clerical tasks and ensuring library materials are organized and accessible (shelving, shifting, and shelf reading). Assisting with basic technology setup, repair, and maintenance. Providing excellent customer service and ensuring the library is a supportive, student-centered environment. Performs other duties as assigned to ensure students have a positive and productive library experience. Minimum and Additional Requirements A high school diploma and experience in library, clerical, or customer service related field. Preferred Qualifications Associate degree with two (2) years experience in library work, or a high school diploma and four (4) years experience in library, clerical, or customer service related field.
