Plant Manager – Truss Manufacturing

Overview: The Plant Manager is responsible for all aspects of component manufacturing and management of associates employed within the plant. The Plant Manager also is required to complete the weekly inventory, calculate weekly BCS Spreadsheet, update 84 time card system on a daily basis, administer safety and quality training to all new hires on the 1st day of work and all associates annually, and complete weekly inventories for lumber and hardware. The Plant Manager also is responsible for inventory control, ensuring that equipment is maintained for reliability and calibration, completing a daily walk-through inspection, creating and implementing a layout for the plant to optimize inventory flow for the current product mix, reporting all hourly associate sick time, vacations, attendance, evaluations to corporate office, and actively participating in the evaluations of hourly associates. This position is responsible for assessing employees' productivity and efficiency; adjusting employee complaints and grievances, disciplining employees, planning the work in the plant, determining the techniques to be used; apportioning the work among the employees; determining the type of materials, supplies, machinery, equipment or tools to be used, providing for the safety and security of the employees and the plant, and planning and controlling the budget. This position has the authority to hire and/or terminate associates.
