Assigned Schedule: 5:00am-1:30pm Monday - Friday (Extended shift and weekend overtime work required) Skill Level: C Compensation: $20.25 per hour THE ROLE The Copper Operator is responsible for operating the machine that prepares copper for the pressing processes. This role also tracks copper foil inventory electronically. TOP RESPONSIBILITIES: • Read and verify press plan is complete and clear. • Review copper foil feeders are stocked with correct copper type, size and weight per the press plan. • Run current inventory list to locate copper foils in stock for usage. Using a forklift, pull copper foils from stock using the FIFO method. • Inspect copper foil for usability. If copper is defective, place on hold per quality procedure. • Stage and load copper on the machine. • Perform transactions in computer to change the location of the copper foil from stock to Specialty copper location. • Log copper usage and scrap in batch sheets. • Between press loads, perform computer transactions to issue/produce copper usage. • Participate in weekly preventive maintenance. • Participate in inventory cycle counts. • Work with engineering and quality technicians as needed. • Cross train in other areas. • Assist other operators to ensure timely shipment of product. • Ensure full compliance with ISO and manufacturing visual and written procedures. • Maintain a clean work area in accordance with established 5S criteria. • Use Lean/Six Sigma Methodologies to improve the process. • All employees will be required to participate in training and continuous improvement events. • Perform other duties as assigned.
