What you'll do As a member of the Technical Office Engineering (TOE) you will responsible for product development and make contributions within the production environment, to the manufacturing and testing of the first cars featuring the pioneering Scout design and functionalities. Additionally, you will play a decisive role in transferring the lessons learned to product optimization activities and the later pre-series and series production line. In your role you will report to the Manager of the Engineering Office. Be the central point of contact in the Production Center in Columbia/Blythewood for the Body Systems team in the Scout Innovation Center/Novi Design & create with collaboration, a Body System integration and a testing strategy that allows other teams to contribute and implement their necessities Partner with other concept & systems architect teams to come up with solutions to engineering & functional challenges and issues coming up in the production process Coordinate with supplier(s) for engineering activities, ensuring supplier meets requirements set by Scout. Collaborate with suppliers and Scout cross-functional teams to ensure system components meet validation and testing requirements. Work with pre-series team to support the build process, and work with supplier to deliver components according to the requirements. Participate in design reviews and brainstorming sessions to contribute innovative ideas that enhance system performance and fulfil production needs. Support projects to improve processes, gather data for analysis repairs and address repair failures. Operate in a LEAN manufacturing environment and provide feedback to management on resolution/ improvement ideas of current issues. Input test findings and other data into computer systems to for test results. Ensures that test loop’s organization and housekeeping, Performs test on water heaters to ensure units are working to standards. Performs other duties deemed necessary by the Assembly Manager and Zone Leaders. Identify quality issues and assist to resolution of issues with the production team. Proper communication in pre-shift and end-of-shift meetings, including accurate documentation. Operate basic hand tools (manual and automatic) for occasional and extended periods of time. Physical and visual inspection of product is required to prevent non-conforming goods. Correctly reports all quality defects to the appropriate team members and shift leadership. Verifies the information on the Manifest is matched to the tank, such as part numbers/ symbols. Other duties and responsibilities that Assembly Manager may assign. Required Qualifications: Must have good communication skills, both verbal and written. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Candidate must possess the interpersonal skills to communicate in a fast-paced manufacturing environment effectively. Lexington, SC 29072 The Job You Will Perform: Utility Persons fill in throughout the Converting or Corrugator departments in entry level positions . Converting: Works at the direction of the operator. Obtains required waste dunnage for top and bottom protector sheets for units. Obtains required load tags for correct order identification. Makes ready the load former for production run. Assist helper and operator in house cleaning work. Assist in clearing machine jams when necessary. Completes Helper’s duties when appropriate or instructed to do so. Performs the “Top Box per Unit” quality check by folding up a box in the open position and checking for quality defects such as; glue joint, print quality, correct folding of all scores, and quality of board. Corrugator: Responsible to the department supervisor for the quality and quantity of work produced. Operates the control panel for the down stacker. Makes designated quality checks on all orders including checks for multiple outs. Reports any non-conforming spec. to the Knife Operator. Discards any waste generated from paper changes as well as any defects observed throughout the run. Moves plastic tubes into place to receive stacks of sheets. Properly marks each stack of sheets with the correct identification. Releases loads for the stock handler. Maintains good housekeeping.
