While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand for extended lengths of time (i.e. flagging operations), walk, sit for extended lengths of time (i.e. operating equipment), drive, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, grasp, hold, and manipulate tools; talk and hear. The employee is routinely required to climb (i.e. ladders and stairs) and stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl or stand on tip toes for extended lengths of time, and must routinely lift and/or carry up to 75 pounds alone, and up to 100 pounds with assistance. Specific vision ability required by this job includes close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus with or without ocular aids. The employee must be able to work in variable temperatures and weather conditions and near traffic with varying noise levels and with varying types of equipment and vehicles. The employee must have the ability to work around and tolerate heat and dust. While performing the duties of this job the incumbent is regularly exposed to outside elements of wet and/or humid conditions, rain, and heat; moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles. Requires the ability to work outdoors in all weather. The incumbent may occasionally work with electrical devices and exposed to vibrations and steady level of loud noises. This “start up” will have the regional support of our GA, NC, and VA offices as well as being a vital part of Tetra Tech. Responsibilities: • Act as EOR/PE in responsible charge for various civil engineering projects. • Act as Project Manager in multi-disciplined projects in the preparation of construction drawings, details, specifications, calculations, and engineers' estimates of probable construction costs. • Provide (or lead) design, analysis, and oversight in various areas to include: o stormwater management facilities for municipalities and other entities. o sustainable green infrastructure, including subsurface storage and infiltration, bioretention basins, bioswales, green streets, and constructed wetlands. o drainage projects across the spectrum of civil engineering. o natural resources mitigation and restoration, i.e. stream restoration, wetland restoration, living shoreline restoration, etc. o By utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D to produce grading plans, alignments, profiles, cut-fill volumes, surfaces, pipe networks, etc. • Provide oversight and guidance in all areas of permitting to include varied local and state regulatory processes for permitting of stormwater and/or wastewater projects. and local, state, and federal permitting guidance related to land disturbance, natural resources impacts, and flood mitigation compliance. • Ultimately lead a team of engineers, CAD professionals, and/or GIS professionals • Provide leadership and mentorship through exceptional interpersonal skills. • Provide insight and direction on projects based on an intermediate knowledge of surveying and use of topographic data. • Possess a strong work ethic and problem-solving skills. • Engage with clients and professional organizations on behalf of Tetra Tech to foster exposure and growth of our expertise and experience. • Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards. • Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline, knowledge and awareness. • Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns. • Additional duties as required.
