WORKING CONDITIONS Job Conditions: The General Laborers work in all conditions that exist in the plant. Conditions range from clean shop work exposure to odors, drafts, wet conditions, dirt, grease, dust, and noise. The work environment consists of smoke and irritating particulate impurities, acid fumes from pickling tanks, and large quantities of windblown dust and ash produced as by-product to the galvanizing process. In addition, the nature of the industry results in extreme heat in the summer (typically 10-15 degrees above outdoor temperature) and melting snow off of incoming material results in damp, cold working conditions in the winter. These conditions range from severe to mild and can happen daily in any combination. Hazards: Potential hazards include falls to the ground due to working at heights or slick working conditions and heat exhaustion or aggravations created by blowing dust and ash. In addition, there are pinch points, struck by, confined space and extreme cold/heat conditions that the incumbent is exposed to. There is also constant exposure to such hazards as burns, cuts, contusions of various degrees and eye injuries making the possibility for incidents high even under the best conditions. EFFORT Physical Effort: The General Laborer spends time climbing, lifting, bending, kneeling, crawling, pulling, stretching, and working in confined spaces and awkward positions, as well as working at heights. Pest Service Professional Technician
Job Summary This position will have a designated route where you will be responsible for fulfilling a daily production schedule, operating under limited supervision, arriving to customers in a timely basis, explaining the scope of services you will provide for them, controlling insects, rodents and other pests involving application of professional products and tactics. Pest Service Professional will conduct home and property inspections by identifying potential and actual pest problems, remove unwanted pests including but not limited to roaches, rats, ants, bedbugs, etc., and offer detailed plans on how to effectively treat infestation areas and design further control strategies such as Integrated Pest Management. Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities Tasks may include (based on services offered within assigned region), but are not limited to the following: · Maintaining service schedules for all customers on assigned routes and calling customers prior to their service. · Providing call-back or initial pest control services to residential and commercial customers including but not limited to inside and outside spray applications of pest control services, traps, gel baits, and other pest-related methods per the Integrated Pest Management process. · Assisting and providing back-up to pest service professionals in completing their routes during paid time off or staffing shortages. · Using auger to drill holes into ground for Sentricon stations and uses other tools to dig trenches for liquid termite applications, when applicable. Monitoring Sentricon or other bait stations at regular intervals. · Providing steam, liquid treatments for bed bugs and/or heat treatment applications. · Assisting with installing wildlife and pest traps, applies caulks or other supplies to fill in gaps/holes in the structure of the house, spays installation (TAP Insulation), uses a respirator and other construction methods to resolve issues. · Assisting with moisture/vapor barriers in crawl spaces, where services are offered. · Perform assigned duties on rooftops, in attics, in crawl spaces, and on ladders at least 40ft high, and can take pictures of effected areas and show them to the customer. · Communicating effectively with customers before, during and after service delivery to assess and meet their needs. · Continuously monitors infestation/rodent areas and pest application methods (i.e. baits, traps, etc.) after application and communicates progress to customers and operation managers. · Communicating with sales staff to meet client expectations. · Participating in ongoing training programs to constantly improve upon skill level. · Completing and submitting service-related paperwork in a timely and orderly fashion. · Maintaining assigned service vehicle, equipment and tools in clean/good working condition. · Adhering and abiding by all driving laws/company policies when operating company vehicles. · Ability to read and understand product/PPE labels accurately to ensure that they are properly applied, stored and disposed of in compliance with State and Federal laws. · Inspect properties for additional pest and/or lawn service needs to generate leads and/or proposals and close sales, if necessary. · Participating in collections efforts. · Additional projects as assigned.
