Job Responsibilities As Program Manager, performs and manages all necessary functions to ensure all Pavement Improvement and Preservation Program (PIPP) projects are let as prescribed by the State Pavement Program Engineer. Ensures all let schedules are adhered to and reports to other groups the status and progress of lettings for both non-interstate systems and the interstate system. Performs qualify control reviews of contract packages to ensure proper application of pavement improvement and preservation treatments. Ensures all PIPP contracts follow SCDOT specifications and related guidelines. Develops project quantities and estimates for interstate pavement projects. Performs complex quality assurance reviews of CTC resurfacing packages. Coordinates with District Office staff in developing and programming CTC resurfacing proposals. Performs data entry into an Access database. Manages database to ensure sufficient information is available to satisfy SCDOT reporting needs for programs on the non-interstate systems as well as the interstate system. Develops pavement preservation analytical processes as a tool to assist the Director of Maintenance staff with decision making and budget programming. Maintains historical records to report on and present options to the Director of Maintenance. Develops and generates reports regarding pavement improvement strategies and scenarios. Prepares other studies and project scopes as needed. Utilizes all knowledge in pavement preservation and construction experience to assist the Director of Maintenance office staff with select renovation projects where major improvements to re-establish pavement structure, drainage, shoulders, and clearing as needed. Performs other related duties as assigned. Minimum and Additional Requirements A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Science and Management and six (6) years of engineering or construction management work experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence. A valid motor vehicle operator’s license is required. The physical demands for the essential functions of this position involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Job Summary The Melt Operator will be responsible for machine operation. This would include troubleshooting, documentation, and quality of material. • Extrudes different fluorocarbon resins. Must set up all equipment needed to run product using setup cards provided. • Cleans melt tooling and puts extruders back together. • Writes legibly and keeps accurate records. • Keeps a clean, neat workplace. • Observes all safety rules and regulations. • Can follow instructions, both oral and written. • Labeling and preparing orders for shipping. • Some use of computer equipment is required. • Lifting and reaching up to a height of 72" approximately 60 pounds unit weight. • Standing/walking: Standing for sustained periods in the Melt area. Walking as necessary • Moving of equipment is required in most instances. • Safety equipment and rules must be used. Respirators, heat and solvent resistant gloves, safety glasses, and face shields. • Calculate Setups • Working with HOT tooling. Temperatures of 450 degrees F+ are not uncommon • High school diploma or equivalent • The ability to carry out oral and written instructions along with the ability to adapt to different situations • Physical condition demands being able to push, pull, lift, reach to height of 72 inches, and handle hot material. • The employee must have the ability to perform inspection functions such as visual inspection to detect cosmetic defects and color differentiation of products • Must have basic mathematical skills (Fractions, Percentages, and Decimals). Must think in terms of spatial dimensions and be able to read and write legibly. • Standing for sustained periods in the general melt area. • Must be able to repetitively torque bolts to 110 ft-lbs. • Attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this position.?
