Production Supervisor The Production Supervisor will lead a team and oversee the day-to-day activities within a manufacturing environment and be responsible for assuring that all production personnel perform their roles efficiently and in accordance with industry best practices, resulting in cost-effective production of products. Specific Duties and Responsibilities: Lead a team Plan and schedule plant maintenance to maximize productivity and optimize the utilization of manpower, resources, and equipment to meet production standards and objectives. The Production Assistant will work with Chemical Manufacturing and Processes in which raw materials undergo change. Responsibilities involve optimizing existing equipment, understanding the reactions taking place and strong troubleshooting skills. *Position Summary* The Engineered Nylons Department runs a batch process to produce various types of nylon resin. The Chemical Operator doses raw materials and performs all process steps for the mix tank, evaporator, reactor, pelletizer, and material transfer to storage tanks. Further processing responsibilities include resin transfer, drying, sample testing and packaging of final product. Position Summary The Special Processes Operator I is responsible for prepping, loading, and unloading product to assure operating procedures of prescribed Heat Treat equipment to specification to achieve FN America’s quality and production goal requirements. The Special Processes Operator I also completes non-destructive testing and magnetic particle testing. Job Duties Ensures all documentation, such as routers, Operator Controlled Variables (OSVs), material matrices, certifications, etc. are completed as required. Interprets Operation Control Sheets (OCSs)/Operations Standards (OS) instructions and process sheets. Operates and has working knowledge of process controllers, heat treat furnaces, induction heating units, temper furnaces, deep freezers, deburring, blast, vibratory deburring, atmosphere and temperature control instruments, and the nitrogen/methanol bulk storage and delivery systems. Masks parts using chemical compounds prior to heat treat. Operates vibratory finishing equipment. Inspects parts and assemblies before and after Heat Treating for conformance with hardness and documented requirements. Prepares Heat Treat certification documents. Sets up and maintains equipment. Performs various heat-treating processes such as carburizing, carbonitriding, gas nitriding, neutral hardening, annealing, normalizing, stress relieving tempering, cryogenics, and induction heating. Informs supervisor of work in process as requested. Keeps supervisor informed and updated as to any issues which may arise in the department. Conducts specific magnetic particle inspections per OCS or for which training has been received. Starts magnetic particle test equipment to perform system verification tests and document results with approved work instructions. Conducts system performance checks and ensures necessary preparation of parts before or after inspection with approved work instructions. Ensures all gages and system verification equipment are returned to Metrology in a timely manner. Evaluates indications for acceptance or rejections based on product knowledge and previous experience and documented requirements. Follows the non-conforming material process with questionable products. Conducts special magnetic particle inspections with approval of a level II Magnetic Particle technician. Production Coordinator Specific Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for day-to-day operations ensuring quality assurance and that the production team meets goals. Maintain information on preventative maintenance activities, quality inspection data, equipment downtime, production output and other key metrics, performing mathematical calculations as needed. Work closely with Planning and Production Supervision to ensure schedules are attainable. Meet or exceed performance metrics including efficiency, production, and downtime. Ensure quality products are sent to customers by overseeing quality checks. Interact with team members, quality assurance and maintenance to maximize output and efficiency. Develop and achieve departmental/company goals and controls. Make suggestions for improvements in the areas of cost reduction, processes, quality, and productivity.
