Commissioning Specialist
Commissioning & Maintenance Specialist Position Summary This position is responsible for commissioning, preventative maintenance troubleshooting, and repair of Plug power products including hydrogen storage infrastructure, electrolyzers, and stationary equipment at various customer sites. As such, this is a heavy travel position (up to 100%). This role requires excellent mechanical aptitude and a high degree of familiarity with industrial hydrogen systems and performance. This position also requires the ability to be on-call and to respond to urgent needs so that customer sites maintain hydrogen production around the clock. The ideal candidate should have the ability to communicate effectively among cross-functional departments with an emphasis on helping to improve electrolyzers system designs and resolve defects based upon field experience and data. This position is also critical to interface with customer stakeholders and exceed their expectations for service thereby furthering Plug Power's reputation as the leader in hydrogen fuel cell power solutions. Core Duties and Responsibilities Travel as needed to customer sites to perform inspection, troubleshooting, repair, testing and commissioning of Plug power products including hydrogen storage infrastructure, electrolyzers, and stationary. Execute and lead high level service repair projects on existing hydrogen infrastructure, including specialized service procedures including liquid tank repairs and vacuum jacket line repairs, etc. Provide training to first responders, customers, and other Plug service personnel on troubleshooting, maintenance, and service of Hydrogen infrastructure. Support the commissioning and ongoing maintenance and operation of industrial hydrogen infrastructure including but not limited to: Interpreting electrical wiring schematics Conducting Point to Point functionality testing Pressure testing of piping systems per ASME standards Testing and troubleshooting program issues with engineering assistance. Inspecting of process piping systems (pressure ratings, fittings, etc.) Provide documented results from system testing and commissioning at the completion of each project. Create, track, and close out project task lists. Knowledge of environmental impact on equipment function and performance Ability to safely operate and control combustibles. Ability to diagnose system problems and troubleshoot solutions. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and P&IDs. Demonstrated ability to interact with customers and external vendors professionally and effectively. Must be able to operate independently with minimal supervision while achieving high quality results in work assignments. Must be able to adapt to changing requirements and meet project commitments/objectives without sacrificing workmanship or quality. Shares ideas about process improvements and other cost saving measures with project team and management. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and technical specifications. Maintain a focus around safety in all facets of work and ensure that all relevant parties are educated on the safe operation of hydrogen equipment and infrastructure. QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience Three (3) or more years of experience in construction, repair, or maintenance in an electrical, industrial, or mechanical field. Associates degree or vocational degree in engineering, electronics, pressurized systems or other applicable field of study preferred. Or in lieu of a degree, 2 additional years of construction, repair, or maintenance experience in an electrical, industrial, or mechanical field. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail and experience working with hand tools, power tools, or in a warehouse, manufacturing, or assembly environment. You will be responsible for assembling products according to specifications, performing quality checks, and helping meet production goals in a clean and organized workspace. We are looking for someone who can: Sort, count, and organize parts and materials before assembly Assemble products using hand and power tools according to work instructions Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, or assembly instructions accurately Perform visual and manual quality inspections on finished products to ensure they meet specifications Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area in the warehouse and assembly station Work on routine assembly tasks with consistency and precision Identify and resolve basic assembly issues, reporting mechanical or production issues to supervisors Communicate clearly with supervisors and team members regarding workflow and tasks Support overall warehouse operations and cross-train as needed Perform all other duties as assigned Physical Demands: Lift, carry, push, and/or pull 1-50 lbs. frequently Squat/kneel, bend/stoop, crawl, twist/turn, grasp, and reach overhead and outward frequently Sit, stand, and walk for 1-10 hours per day Work in a fast-paced industrial environment wearing hearing protection, eye protection, steel-toed shoes, and other appropriate protective clothing Benefits: 401(k) 401(k) Matching Dental Insurance Health Insurance Life insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Requirements: Experience: · Manufacturing: 2 years · Power Tools: 2 years
