TITLE Manufacturing Engineering Manager COMPANY JTEKT Bearings North America DEPARTMENT Engineering LOCATION Blythewood, SC CLASSIFICATION Exempt / Salaried REPORTS TO Plant Manager GRADE 108 REVISION DATE 06/25/2024 REVISION LEVEL New Summary and Accountabilities: Plans, directs and coordinates technical support for the manufacturing processes by performing the following essential duties: • Directs and coordinates day to day work assignments of Manufacturing Engineers Manufacturing Engineering Technicians and conducts performance reviews for direct reports • Develops, and evaluates manufacturing methods. • Develop and implement solutions to manufacturing problems and improvements in manufacturing methods that result in improved quality and increased productivity while maintaining a safe working environment. • Provide training to Operators, Setup Associates, Manufacturing Technicians, Manufacturing Engineering Technicians, and Manufacturing Engineers to improve technical abilities. • Interface with all levels in the organization using verbal, written and graphical communication tools to ensure efficient production methods. • Design and document tooling designs on drawings that communicate tooling requirements to toolmakers using AUTOCAD software. • Confers with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods. • Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards • Confers with management, Production Engineering, JTEKT JP, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, new installation, and other considerations to facilitate production processes. • Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential including machine capability studies, etc. • Plans, implements and tracks Capital and Non-Capital cost reduction projects and reports to management on a regular basis. • Participate in the development of departmental and salary budgets. • Support 5-S, Kaizen Team and Koyo Production System, TS 16949 and efforts throughout the plant. • Other duties as assigned. Summary/Purpose Primary function is to operate and maintain adjustments of various process, manual or automated machines and manipulators in the high volume production of quality bearings. Essential Duties and Accountabilities: • Reads work instructions for product specifications, dimensions, tolerances, and tooling instructions. • Selects, positions, and secures cutting tools in tool holder (chuck, collet, or tool post). • Turns valves / coolant lines to direct flow of coolant or cutting oil against tool and work piece. • Observes operation of machine and verifies conformance of machined work piece to specifications, dimensional tolerances and visually inspects parts for non-conformance. • Follow standard operating production procedures and work instructions. Perform work in a systematic manner when possible to insure all steps are carried out in proper sequence. • Perform operational preventative maintenance according to schedules. • Read dial indicators and other measuring devices to insure quality standards are met. If manufacturing process is causing quality issues, Machine Operator will stop production and consult with the Setup and Floor Supervisor. • Assist Setup personnel during operation by giving information, making minor machine adjustments &/or tool settings. • Record production results on an hourly basis. • Perform quality checks and scrap as required. • Properly disposition process rejects in appropriate areas. • Responsible for all “5-S” and daily housekeeping on a daily basis. Performs major cleanup as required. • Follow and complete daily work assignments as directed by Setup Associates and Floor Supervisors. • Associates are accountable on a daily basis to the Setup Associate and Floor Supervisors. • Maintain Traceability records by recording component serial numbers. • Ability to successfully operate multiple product areas (ex: turning, grinding and assembly). • Determine causes of minor machine malfunction and make adjustments or repair in order for machine to process materials in accordance to specifications in a timely manner. • Assist on changeover as required. • Train other associates as directed. • Other duties as assigned. JOB SUMMARY: The Field Service Engineer will be responsible for responsible for the service and maintenance of Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) located in several service areas. The Field Service Engineer will provide on-site support for ATMs including but not limited to repair, maintenance and replacement services. When not traveling, it will be possible that the Field Service Engineer will participate in the training of other new NHA Field Service Engineers and assist with the staging and integration of ATMs. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Installation, repair, software loading and maintenance of ATM’s or other products in a defined geographically territory. Train bank staff or vendors on required maintenance tasks of equipment. Work with internal and external support departments required to provide maintenance support to the end user. Maintain all Service Level Agreement as defined per customer contract. Work on products and services of medium to high complexity. Up to 30% travel for work to areas outside your home geography where management deems necessary, often at a short notice. Perform preventive maintenance functions of an ATM including diagnostics, testing and cleaning. Manage spare parts and follow all inventory processes. Complete administrative reports within time line allotted. Complete tasks as assigned by supervisor or applicable NHA staff members. Flexible work schedule with on-call duty. Work independently with minimal supervision. As a representative of NHA, provide an extraordinary customer service experience to our customers meeting their service obligation and demands. Maintain company property in good working conditions. Maintain a valid driver’s license. Responsible with company credit card usage and expense reporting. Must follow all security procedures and policies. Other duties as assigned EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: May require an Associate’s Degree in Electronics or equivalent experience, prior ATM experience preferred, but not required, or 3-5 years of experience in the field service Have solid understanding of electronics and electro-mechanical equipment operation. Ability to use analog and digital voltmeters. Ability to use hand tools and carry heavy parts up to 80 lbs. Ability to work extended hours, including beyond assigned shift with no notice when required. Ability to travel to other areas of the country (30-40% travel may be required) Ability to work all shifts, which may include weekend and holidays. On-Call duty required for all FSE positions. Compensation is provided for On-Call duty.
