What you’ll do: Locates buried facilities near the route of "B" service wire using appropriate equipment. Operate a company vehicle with trailer and machinery. Locate buried facilities near the route of buried wire using appropriate equipment. Manual excavation utilizing a shovel. Provide repairs to low voltage buried utilities or sprinkler systems. Provides temporary repairs to low voltage buried utilities, sprinkler systems, and sewage field lines damaged while performing other duties. Periodic maintenance and non-complex repairs to equipment used in the performance of other responsibilities. Reads and interprets simple instructions. Follow established safety practices and procedures including the manufacturer's specifications for operation or use of equipment. What you’ll need: Desire to work Monday through Friday with a shift length of 8hrs. Ability to work mandatory overtime and holidays as service conditions require. Eager to work outside in all kinds of weather conditions. Able to utilize various types of machines and tools. Lift and move objects up to 120 pounds. Use computers including hand-held devices to update work status and check new assignments. Light commercial driver’s license or equivalent required, depending on state law and be able to drive manual shift in some assignments. Attain and maintain a DOT medical card. Complete on-the-job and/or classroom training as required. Demonstrate competency in the training requirements during probationary period to satisfy qualification achievement. Previous operating experience with similar equipment is desirable. As the Engineering Technician, you'll provide general support to our engineering and project detailer teams. In this role, the Technician will execute written, and verbal instructions provided by our engineers, primarily assisting with steel connection designs, layouts, and drawing reviews. Our Engineering Technicians are instrumental in making suggestions for shop and field efficiencies in the development of connection design. Core Responsibilities Work closely with in-house engineers to produce detail calculations and sketches necessary for project connection design requirements. Work closely with project detailers during job setup to ensure detailer understanding of standard connections. Create detailed layouts to assist in-house engineers in the preparation of connection designs. Use 3D computer model to assist in-house engineers in determining complete framing understanding for proper connection design. Review shop detail drawings to assure project detailers have adequately transferred and applied project connection requirements. Review project drawings and shop drawings to assure the most economical connections are being provided for maximum shop and field efficiencies.
