Serve as SCFC Fire Duty Officer; assist with fire related training, wildfire suppression, and prescribed burning, and maintenance of the Fire Cache; assist in mobilizing agency resources within the state and out of state incidents when necessary. Represent the agency at SCEMD during activations and exercises. Perform other duties in support of the agency's mission and strategic initiatives. Minimum and Additional Requirements A bachelor's degree and relevant program experience or equivalency as approved by Human Resources. Requires a valid South Carolina driver's license. A criminal background check and drug and alcohol test are required. Must pass a physical fitness test of walking (2) miles in 30 minutes carrying a 25-pound pack. Firefighter registration with the State Fire Marshals Office required. Additional Comments Position is located in an office environment. Must be able to remain sedentary for long periods of time while working on a computer. Work hours are Monday-Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. May require some weekend work. Some travel may be required. Must be able to lift 25 lbs., bend and squat. Knowledge of an agency's mission, programs, and objectives. Knowledge of management principles.
