Job Responsibilities This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health, C. M. As the Equipment Operator II, you will transport clients, staff and other authorized personnel locally and statewide to support the OMH mission. Responsibilities include but not limited to: Transport clients, staff, authorized personnel and other items locally and statewide. Maintain daily vehicle utilization records. Maintain protection and accountability of all transported items using chain of custody forms and procedures. Perform and document vehicle pre-trip/post-trip inspections. Comply with Vehicle Management established policies and procedures. Perform dispatch duties, process transportation requests and coordinate daily transportation requests. Minimum and Additional Requirements Experience in the operation or maintenance of heavy equipment, motorized vehicles or machinery that is directly related to the area of employment. High school diploma or equivalent and three (3) years driving experience. One (1) year without a moving violation, no more than one (1) motor vehicle accident/incident, regardless of fault and no suspensions within the last three years. A valid South Carolina driver's license. Additional Requirements Be able to sit, stand, squat, kneel and climb steps unassisted and able to lift 35lbs. Preferred Qualifications Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.
