We seek to hire a biologist who addresses fundamental questions in evolutionary genetics. The successful candidate will join our graduate group in Ecology & Evolutionary Biology and will be expected to establish an independent, extramurally funded research program in evolutionary genetics. Performs maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of foam injection systems, compressed air foam injection systems (CAFS). Maintenance, diagnostics and repair of all components and management systems used to dispense fuel at the County's 9 fuel distribution centers as well as two mobile fuel trucks. Performs onsite DHEC inspections to assure compliance with DHEC guidelines. Coordinate tank tightness testing and recommend upgrade and repair of major systems for budgetary purposes. Diagnose, repair and replace defective computer interface control systems and their related components, circuit boards, modems, surge protection and power control systems. Fabrication, installation and repair of emergency equipment. The development of reliable circuitry and installation methods used to equip emergency response vehicles with required lighting systems, sirens, laptop computer systems, radio's, radar units, protective cages or screens, etc. Onboard Power Generations Systems maintenance, diagnostics and repairs. This includes engine driven and PTO hydraulic driven generators that operate the AC power systems on Fire Apparatus. Performs highly skilled diagnostics and repairs to Diesel Engines, Fire Pumps, Computerized Engine and transmission management systems, transmissions, rear differentials, steering and suspension components, alignments, and drivability issues. Coordinates daily work assignments with other Fire mechanics and quality controls their work. Assists lower pay band mechanics with difficult problems and coordinates all repair part purchases and sublet vehicle services with appropriate area vendors.
