Minimum and Additional Requirements An associate degree in the natural or physical sciences or related technical field and three years of environmental health or related experience A bachelor's degree in the natural or physical sciences or related technical field Institutions of Higher Learning must be recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. A working knowledge of database software is required. Ability to work well with internal and external customers. Ability to detect deviations and review technical data in reports is a must. You will respond to questions and concerns from licensees, members of the legislature, and the general public. You will perform other duties such as coordinating newsletters and publications, keeping information current for written and online platforms, and assisting with long-range plans and strategic objectives. Minimum and Additional Requirements Minimum Qualifications A bachelor’s degree and relevant program experience. Preferred Qualifications Licensed and/or registered nurse in South Carolina and/or prior program management or leadership experience. Knowledge of the agency’s mission, program, and objectives. Knowledge of principles and theories of management, leadership skills, and how to work within an organizational structure. Ability to interpret and apply statutes, rules and regulations. Ability to manage work and provide guidance to employees. Ability to prepare and present presentations and reports. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Must possess organizational, analytical, interpersonal and strong communication skills. Must demonstrate the ability to develop long-range plans to work cooperatively within a complex agency. Must be competent to consult with nursing employers, educators, state and national associates, individual licensees and the public regarding the Nurse Practice Act. Other Requirements Position works in an office environment with extended periods of sitting and standing. May be required to lift, carry, move and/or position objects weighing up to 25 lbs. Daily telephone and computer use. Occasional overnight travel to state and national meetings. Occasional work outside of normal Agency hours.
