Park and organize trailers in the storage lot so it stays orderly. Get trailers ready for loading or for leaving the facility. Help with docking and moving equipment as needed. Equipment, Safety & Maintenance: Check vehicles and equipment before use to make sure they are safe and working correctly. Keep equipment clean and in good working condition. Help schedule and perform regular small maintenance tasks on vehicles. Do minor repairs on vehicles if you are able to. Train new drivers on safe ways to operate vehicles and follow safety rules in the yard. Checking & Reporting: Inspect containers and equipment as they come in or go out. If there are problems with loads (like too much, not enough, or damaged products), let warehouse management know and tell them what you did to help fix it. Help get updates on loads and share that information with the warehouse team. Keep basic records as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements: Must have a High School Diploma or GED. Must have a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). Experience working as a Yard Jockey or in a very similar job is needed. Good knowledge of safety rules for driving large vehicles and working in a yard. Able to work the required hours: 11:30 AM to 8:00 PM. You must also be willing to work overtime when needed. Good at organizing your work and keeping the yard tidy. Able to work well in a busy place where things can change quickly. Good communication skills – able to talk, listen, and work well with others. Basic computer skills for simple updates or records. Willing to learn about how our warehouse and delivery system (supply chain/logistics) works. Must be motivated, enthusiastic, and able to work hard in a fast-moving environment.
