The pre-fab department’s responsibility is to take raw materials and turn it into usable parts for the welders to construct products with. This individual will be working Monday-Friday; 8am-5pm. Familiarity with basic tools is required. Experience using sanders, drills, and iron workers is a plus. We will be offering on the job training. We are looking for someone who can: Set up and operate machines to saw, cut, drill, and bend materials according to work orders and production schedules, ensuring adherence to specified material size, quantity, cut dimensions, and tolerances. Follow standardized work processes and ensure correct documentation is maintained throughout production. Perform minor machine maintenance, including replacing saw blades, oiling machines, and replenishing consumables. Measure completed workpieces to verify accuracy against specifications. Clean and lubricate machines daily to ensure optimal operation and longevity. Maintain inventory, including raw materials, tube laser components, inventory bins, and consumables, ensuring availability for production needs. Produce consistent, accurate work daily, meeting production goals with minimal assistance. Lift items weighing 50+ pounds as needed and perform tasks efficiently and independently. Read, interpret, and follow blueprints, diagrams, weld symbols, bills of materials, and other instructions, both written and verbal. Maintain a safe and clean work area, adhering to all safety guidelines and best practices. Roles and Responsibilities Use hand-welding or flame-cutting equipment to weld or join metals components or fill holes, indentations, or seams of fabricated metal products or pipes. Read a Weld Procedure Specification (WPS) to produce a weld according to the requirements of the procedure. Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions. Ignite torches or start power suppliers and strike arcs by touching electrodes to metals being welded. Fabricate and construct piping segments and attach fittings that require field fit-up, erection, and assembly. Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind, or bolt parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding. Detect faulty operation of equipment or defective materials and notify supervisors. Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments, using processes such as gas tungsten arc, gas metal arc, flux-cored arc, plasma arc, shielded metal arc, resistance welding, and submerged arc welding. Examine workpieces for defects and measure workpieces to ensure conformance with specifications. Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade, such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment. Follows all safety policies and procedures. Other such duties and responsibilities as assigned by the company from time to time. Qualifications and Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of pipe welding (field) to include all the following procedures: o MIG o TIG o Stick • Must be able to pass an in-house welding test (6G criteria) • Must have own hand tools. • Must successfully pass a background check and drug test • Ability to weld diverse types of metals • Knowledge of hand and power tools • Ability to read blueprints Physical Demands: Occasional sitting, frequent stooping, crouching, kneeling, balancing, and climbing.
