We boldly go. Where is the work: On-Site (5 days) What’s in it for you: Trane Technologies is hiring a Quality Engineer in Columbia, SC. The Quality Engineer will effectively administer the Quality Management System in accordance with current procedures and work instructions, and will collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, Program Management, and Supply Chain to meet customer expectations. What you will do: Support operations when quality issues arise to maintain production Manage the rejection process for manufactured product and supplied components Partner with Operations and Manufacturing Engineering to investigate root causes and drive implementation of corrective and preventive actions for customer complaints and internal issues. Leverage common problem solving tools (9 Step, 8D, A3) Administer the deviation process Lead ISO internal audits NPD/Engineered projects Lead quality assurance activities related to electrical systems, controls, wiring, PCBs, and electronic components Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers to ensure compliance with specifications, standards, and regulatory requirements Develop and execute inspection plans, test procedures, and validation strategies for electrical parts and assemblies Support new product development (NPD) by participating in design reviews, DFMEA, PFMEA, and reliability evaluations Analyze field failure data, warranty trends, and test results to identify improvement opportunities Work with suppliers to qualify new electrical components and improve supplier quality performance Create and maintain quality documentation, including control plans, specifications, work instructions, and inspection criteria. Ensure compliance with relevant electrical standards (e.g., UL, IEC, CE, NEC) as applicable Support internal and external audits and ensure adherence to Trane Technologies quality management system Champion continuous improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma, and statistical tools What you will bring: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering 2+ years Engineering experience in an assembly manufacturing environment, including blueprint reading and using various measuring equipment (CMM) Skilled in investigation of root causes and driving implementation of corrective and preventive actions for customer complaints and internal issues. Experience using common problem solving tools, preferably 9 Step, 8D, A3 Ability to organize tasks and manage time to complete multiple assignments simultaneously. Production – 2nd Shift
SUMMARY: Sets up and operates machines in a production environment by performing the following duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. • Perform various functions of production which meet established quality standards. • Perform routine maintenance on equipment • Complete daily paperwork in a legible, accurate manner. • Perform all functions within established productivity standards. • Assist in maintaining a safe and clean work area. • Adherence to company policies and procedures • Perform other production tasks as the need arises or as assigned.
