This is a full-time remote position; however, you must reside in one of the following states: AK, FL, GA, NC, SC, OK, TN, TX, MO, VA Network Engineer The Network Engineer at UDT is an expert at working in a Cisco & Fortinet powered carrier grade network. This role is responsible for provisioning new services for customers and maintaining the service provider network. This role is tasked with managing the service provider network, including aspects such as ensuring availability and uptime, measuring performance, and facilitating growth and expansion. Primary Responsibilities Design, build, implement, and support new network architectures in a predominantly Cisco & Fortinet environment. Administer and maintain existing service provider network. Troubleshoot complex customer issues and coordinate third party vendor interaction to ensure prompt and professional resolution. Write and deploy automation and scripting to make the service provider group more efficient at service provisioning and service support. Create technical documentation for customers and for other departments to share knowledge. Serves as technical consultant to our sales teams. After-hours on-call support rotation. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience is required. Applicable experience may be considered as a substitute such as 5+ years of technical experience working in a carrier grade MSP network. CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) is required. This certification must be Active of Current not expired. FCP (Fortinet Certified Professional) in Network Security is a plus. A strong candidate must have 5 years of experience working with various routing protocols and technologies such as OSPF, IS-IS, BGP, MPLS, SRv6, QOS, Multicasting and working in switched environments with strong understanding of layer 2 networks and topologies as it relates to design in Metro Ethernet deployments. The following certifications are not required but are considered a plus - RHCE, LFCS, LPI, CISSP, CEH, CISM, and CISA. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: To effectively maintain a strong work ethic to manage a high volume, retail variety store. The OTR Driver will drive a tractor-trailer combination or a truck with a capacity of at least 26,000 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW). The driver may be required to unload truck utilizing manual and/or electric pallet jacks. Position requires a current commercial drivers' license. Job Responsibilities: Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order. Must be physically able to climb in/out of the truck driver compartment. Must be physically able to connect/disconnect trailer to/from truck tractor by backing truck under trailer king-pin and raising/lowering the trailer landing gear with the hand crank. Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew and checking that vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned. Collect delivery instructions from appropriate sources, verifying instructions and routes. Maintain logs of working hours or of vehicle service or repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations. Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles. Secure cargo for transport, using ropes, blocks, chain, binders, or covers. Drive trucks to weigh stations before and after loading and along routes to document weights and to comply with state regulations. Drive trucks with capacities greater than 3 tons, including tractor-trailer combinations, to transport and deliver products. Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods when required. Inventory and inspect goods to be moved to determine quantities and conditions. Perform other duties as assigned.
