PURPOSE: Supervises the field construction of a project, including its organization, planning, and scheduling, in order to complete the work on time, within budget, and to quality specified. Position Duties: Primary liaison with owners/ architects/ engineers for the day-to-day construction activities of the project. Develop and implement overall project work schedules identifying the critical path including the expediting of scheduled critical materials and equipment for their timely delivery to site. Lead, supervising and developing all MVCC field staff, including providing input on or completing performance appraisals. Develop and manage the overall site safety program as required and ensuring subcontractor compliance with MVCC standards and all applicable safety codes and regulations. Manage and make decisions related to the performance of work related to scheduling, delivery, logistics, quality control and trade employee staffing levels. Oversee work among all trades to promote and coordinate project operations. Resolving local area problems regarding procedures, precedence, design clarifications, adequate labor and equipment, schedule and all other appropriate matters. Manage labor relations with subcontractors and MVCC trade staff. Implement mock-ups and associated testing, review and approval. Ensure all necessary permits and insurance are in place and kept current for the term of the project. Acting as liaison to inspection agencies. Perform in the capacity of Storm water Compliance Coordinator (SCC) in accordance with MVCC’s Storm water Compliance Program. Manage the General Conditions and General Requirements for the project to maintain budget. Manage the billing process as it relates to Work-In-Place (WIP) and overseeing the monthly estimate of work completed, payrolls, material invoices and subcontractor payment applications. Manage the work to ensure that it is installed in compliance with and conforms to the approved contract documents. Individual Contributor or Supervisory QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: ~4-7 years of internal or external experience in a similar role or education equivalent. Specialized expertise in multiple systems, processes, and market sectors. Education or Education Equivalent: 4-year degree in Engineering, Construction, or Architecture from an accredited College or University. Other related degrees accepted if supported by construction-oriented coursework or relevant experience. Demonstrates exceptional proficiency in complex systems, processes, and market sectors; oversees work execution of varying size and complexity with support; mentors and trains others effectively; manages cross-functional teams. Thorough knowledge and understanding of the general and subcontract documents, drawings, specifications, construction means, methods and materials, understanding of line and grade and survey methods. Knowledge of construction cost control and basic accounting procedures. Ability to implement leading-edge technologies such as Lean to benefit the project. Strong management, leadership and interpersonal skills combined with the ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing. Proficient knowledge of Excel, Word, Microsoft Project, AutoCAD, as well as estimating and project management utilizing cost accounting software (Viewpoint preferred) and Procore. Capable of training and advising others effectively. Quick to grasp new systems, processes, or market sectors. Demonstrates effective communication skills with diverse teams. Able to train and support colleagues efficiently. Ability to comprehend and communicate effectively with diverse audiences through various mediums, including written reports, business correspondence, and presentations. Proficiency in numerical calculations, including discounts, percentages, and basic algebraic concepts. Description Position Purpose: We are looking for a Network Engineer to join our Network Core Team! In this position, you will be responsible for the engineering of network infrastructure that includes, designing infrastructures including hardware, software, and various configurations. You'll ensure that the design and integration of proposed solutions leads to the development and growth of the business through effective use of technology. You will also facilitate the optimization of business unit performance by enhancing the alignment between business systems and information technology, evaluate new products, perform network problem resolution, and assist in the development and documentation of technical standards and interface applications. What You'll Do: Responsible for network planning, architecture design and engineering. Determines feasibility from technical and economic perspectives. Evaluates equipment specifications and process requirements to conceive a practical design. Compiles and analyzes operational data and directs tests to establish standard for new designs or modifications to existing equipment, systems, or processes. Plans and evaluates complex network systems and makes recommendations for resources required to develop, maintain and/or expand service levels. Provides consultative support to facilitate design and to resolve design problems. May also monitor network performance to determine whether adjustments need to be made, and to determine where changes will need to be made in the future. Plans, coordinates, and implements network security measures to protect data, software, and hardware. Anticipates and mitigates potential attacks through network or other connections to ensure the security of the system. Provides strategic planning and participation for disaster recovery operations. Updates knowledge and skills to keep up with rapid advancements in technology. Researches, evaluates and recommends software and hardware products. Provides counsel and leadership on future use of technology and system improvements. Ensures network compliance with audit requirements. Addresses new network vulnerabilities within audit-mandated time frames. Maintains effective security/backup and disaster recovery processes and systems. Directs or leads technical support personnel as needed. May lead the gathering of business needs as well as the design of solutions through direct interaction with business unit leaders. Maintains effective relationships with external suppliers to ensure appropriate levels of support. Plans large scale systems projects through vendor comparison and cost studies. May interface with vendors to identify and purchase hardware and software. Work Environment: Fast paced, multi-platformed environment which may require action and response 24X7 to support the technical business needs of the customer. To Qualify for This Position, You'll Need: This position requires a clearance which requires U.S. citizenship to obtain. Required Education: Bachelor's degree in a job-related field Degree Equivalency: Associate's degree plus an extra 2 years job-related work experience for a total of 10 years of required work experience (see "required work experience") OR 12 total years required job-related work experience Required Work Experience: 8 years of network or other job-related experience Required Skills and Abilities: Comprehensive knowledge of network systems and applications. Able to perform high-level network planning, design, and optimization. Able to suggest plans to integrate new and existing designs and provide input into highly complex and high impacting decisions. Advanced technical knowledge of networking, communications, and related hardware and software. Strong knowledge of emerging technologies for applications to the enterprise. Capable of taking on the role of project leader for special enterprise-wide assignments. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate technical issues with non-technical people. Strong understanding of technical problems and solutions in relation to the current, as well as the future business environment. High level of understanding of organization business systems and processes as well as industry-wide requirements. Proficiency with network technologies and platforms. Required Software and Tools: Advanced understanding of relevant network hardware and software. We Prefer that You Have: Enterprise level experience with Cisco Routing & Switching (including Nexus) Cisco ACI and/or Ansible Experience Enterprise level experience with Cisco ISE 10 years-of experience working in infrastructure/network environments performing network engineering (hardware and/or software), design and planning.
