Industrial Maintenance Technician

Mark Anthony Brewing is hiring an Industrial Maintenance Technician to be responsible for the daily completion of tasks integral to the operation and overall performance of the Brewery. The maintenance technician performs highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain highly automated and advanced production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the plant’s business goals and objectives. The Industrial Maintenance Technician will make certain that Safety and Quality are at the forefront of all activities for both them and their teammates. This role will work closely with other maintenance team members as well as other departments including Operations, Quality and Logistics to ensure daily and weekly tasks are being completed on-time and according to standard operating procedures. This is your opportunity to be a part of an innovative team in a brand new, state-of-the-art brewing facility in Columbia, SC. Accountabilities & Impact: Safety / Food Safety: Adhere to all Plant and Safety policies and procedures, including wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), as well as adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). Ensure equipment meets safety standards and regulations. Technical Expertise: Ability to effectively troubleshoot equipment to minimize unplanned equipment downtime. Plan and execute predictive/preventative maintenance efforts to minimize equipment downtime. Demonstrate effective root-cause problem solving to identify and perform equipment repairs and improvements. Participate in special projects on equipment upgrades or installations. Utilize skills in fabrication capabilities such as cutting and welding (mig, tig or stick), and work with electrical systems including 480VAC & 24VDC power. Read and interpret schematics for process and instrumentation diagrams, and repair variable frequency drives, servo motors and controllers, communication systems (…), PLC input/output cards, and safety modules. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work performed, parts used, and any additional observations. Ensure PM’s/ work order paperwork is completed before departure from plant. Follow-up with any team members when passing along ongoing work to the next shift. Assist the lead with developing/updating SOP’s. Team Collaboration: Work closely with production and other departments to coordinate maintenance activities without disrupting the manufacturing process. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors. Inventory Management: Finding parts in the CMMS system. Ensure parts used from inventory are reported and documented in accordance with inventory control program guidelines. Optimize the use of resources, including tools and equipment. Communication: Ensure smooth shift changes by communicating important information to incoming shifts, including updates on work in progress, equipment conditions, and any outstanding issues or concerns. Escalate concerns to supervisor as it relates to safety, quality, performance goals, productivity, continuous improvement, and teamwork/harmony. Training and Development: Collaborate with your peers and team members to transfer specialist technical knowledge. Provide training to production staff on basic equipment operation and routine maintenance tasks. Process Improvement: Work directly with leadership to develop and execute projects involving continuous improvement, equipment and/or facility upgrades, and the permanent corrective measures of reoccurring problems. Perform other various job duties as required. Skills & Experiences Needed: High School diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree, certification or higher within in a technical field preferred 1 – 3 of industrial maintenance experience in high-speed manufacturing. Experience in one of the following fields: beverage or packaging (preferred). Safe use of various hand and power tools, welders, lifts, multi-meters, industrial shop equipment Read and interpret schematics for process and instrumentation diagrams, and repair variable frequency drives, servo motors and controllers, communication systems, PLC input/output cards, and safety modules. Forklift experience a plus (certification not required). Proficient in computer and software skills such as MS office, excel, word, and email and Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) system. Working conditions: This position is exposed to occupational hazards, including but not limited to, high noise levels, physical obstacles, exposure to chemicals, etc. Subject to extreme heat/cold temperatures Must have sufficient endurance to perform tasks over long periods of time. Fast-paced and constantly changing work environment. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to stand/move 8-12 hours per day. Ability to ascend/descend stairs/ladders throughout shift. Fine motor skills and dexterity for manipulation Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including (but not limited to) bump cap, safety steel toe shoes, safety glasses, dust masks or PAPRs. This role involves operating a forklift, safely managing and operating automated warehouse systems such as Laser Guided Vehicles, managing shipping materials, and coordinating with various departments. Safely operate a forklift to unload finished goods and raw material deliveries. Store shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock. Resource recovery handling Supply production and office with non-inventory items (mail, indirect materials, etc.). Arrange for carrier vehicle or pickup (driver check-in and check-out process) Manually pull pallets from production as needed. Maintain files of shipping records and trace missing or lost shipments. Prepare documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, and shipping orders to route materials. Read customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed. Skills & Experiences Needed: High School diploma or equivalent required. 1+ years of experience in warehouse environment with 12 hr. shift model (preferred). Demonstrated and effective use of computer skills such as MS office, Teams, OneNote, and email. Forklift experience (preferred). Must be willing to obtain forklift certification. As the Packaging Lead, you will actively lead the Packaging Operators to ensure the successful completion of tasks critical to the operation and overall performance of the Packaging Lines. Your role will encompass cross-training in all areas, qualifying you to proficiently handle packaging, sanitation, quality, and maintenance tasks. Your main focus will be on monitoring the overall process, acting as a valuable resource to assist the Packaging Operators in troubleshooting unforeseen process events with a sense of urgency. Safety and quality will be at the forefront of all activities for both you and your team. As a PACKAGING LEAD, your responsibilities will include: Lead by example and drive all Plant and Safety policies and procedures within the Brewery, including wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as well as adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). Ensure team members are accountable to same. Complete daily and weekly tasks using Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) to ensure sustained and repeatable quality and overall performance results. Ensure continuous operation of process equipment through active operator management, process monitoring and troubleshooting. Solution oriented with non-traditional thinking, critical thinking, and efficient decision-making driving root cause/corrective action ensuring all measurables are achieved consistently. Actively mentor, coach, and hold accountable brewing operators as it relates to safety, quality, productivity, continuous improvement and team harmony. Effectively communicate job knowledge and process changes to the operations team members and management through various forms of daily communication (shift handover meeting, daily production meetings, email, action logs, work orders, etc.). Audit operator performance to ensure quality inspection of product are being completed per the SOP’s Audit documentation to ensure it is completed which certifies completion of inventory checks, quality inspections, sanitation requirements, batch and blending production following SOP’s, and basic maintenance tasks. Drive preventative and routine operator maintenance program including operator checks and lubrication of machinery and equipment. Effective escalation measures taken for safety, equipment and/or personnel issues for immediate resolution. Ensure cross-training of team members, maximize use of all available resources, and overall team competency. The PACKAGING LEAD position is well-suited for you if you have/are: Strong work ethic and willingness to take on any task. Reliable and punctual - must adhere to attendance and absenteeism policy. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize work while multitasking. Excellent communication skills both orally and written. Demonstrated ability to lead warehouse teams effectively. Preferred bi-lingual English/Spanish. Must be at least 21 years of age. Working conditions: Fast-paced and constantly changing work environment Shift work including days, evenings, overnight shifts up to 12 hrs. Overtime work, including weekends and holidays as needed Ability to push/pull/move up to 50lbs. Ability to stand 8-12 hours per day. Ability to ascend/descend stairs throughout the workday.
