Prepares, organizes, and maintains specialized records and reports in a paper or electronic filing system. Drafts correspondence and legal documents, such as contracts and FOIA requests. Minimum and Additional Requirements • High School diploma and four years experience working in a legal department or law firm. • An Associate's Degree or Certificate in Paralegal Studies may be substituted for 2 years of experience; or a Bachelor of Science in Legal Studies may be substituted for 4 years of experience. • Well-versed in legal terminology, federal and state rules and regulations surrounding contracts, worker's compensation, risk assessment/management, and FOIA requests. • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite to include Word, Excel, and Outlook. • Communicate effectively, both verbally and written. • Self-starter with effective time-management skills. Additional Position Requirements • This position is primarily based in an office setting. • The applicant should be able to sit, stand, use office equipment, and be able to lift up to 25 pounds. • Travel within state may be necessary at times.
