Description The purpose of this position is to supervise and perform skilled technical and manual work in the daily operation of an assigned City water treatment plant; to prepare and maintain required records and reports, and to perform related work as required. Advises and consults with superiors on unusual operating problems or the need for major repairs to equipment. Administers the plant SCADA system; enters operating data and laboratory data into computer system daily; generates related reports. Assists in determining security protocol and in maintaining plant security at all times. Performs duties of plant operators as required during staff shortages. Orders and maintains inventory of treatment chemicals and other supplies and materials. Assists in ensuring plant compliance with City/department policies and procedures, S.C. DHEC regulations, and all other applicable laws, regulations, and standards of quality and safety. Works with consulting engineers, equipment manufacturers/vendors, and construction contractors in the upgrade and/or modification of facilities and equipment.
